Research

During May-July 2023, I worked with Dr. Palash Ghosh of IIT Guwahati on time series data. We calculated the optimal fertility rate (a constant fertility rate that should be maintained in order to achieve a desired population in a specified future year) of India, given a future year. I also developed a shiny app entirely based on R statistical software that predicts the population of India based on the available data on migration rate, death rate, fertility rate and population of India, and also calculates the optimal fertility rate given a target population in the future for India. The application is available at: https://palash.shinyapps.io/Fertility_rate/.

Currently, I am working on developing new machine learning algorithms for better diagnosis and prognosis of breast cancer. I am also working on improving the efficiency and accuracy of Xcyt: a System for Remote Cytological Diagnosis and Prognosis of Breast Cancer, developed by Wolberg et al. that has been used by Dr. William Wolberg in his clinical practice at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals since 1993.

During the winter of 2022, I worked on Continued Fractions and Pell's equations under Dr. Rupam Barman as an intern at IIT Guwahati. The report of the internship can be accessed via this link
